Injury Rehab

What is injury rehab?

Injury rehabilitation is a process that is used to heal from an injury. If you have sustained an injury, you are not alone, many suffer from an injury or an injury-related disability. At MPR Health we believe it is important to recover from your injury and get back to your normal activities.

An injury can severely limit your physical activities. It can also make you feel anxious and not sure about getting back to your normal self. However, with a little time and effort, you can recover from your injury and get back to your normal self.

An injury can lead to a host of complications, including pain, weakness, swelling, and discomfort. It can also affect your performance at work, school, and social activities. If you have sustained an injury, you may need to undergo a rehabilitation process to recover from your injury.

How does this help with healing my injury?

Working towards making your injury as painless and simple to heal as possible is the goal of treatment.  By reducing inflammation and increasing blood flow to the injured area, you will heal faster. Additionally, this enables you to regain strength and mobility quickly.

When the injury is no longer painful, the next step is to improve range of motion. This is accomplished by gently stretching and strengthening the muscles surrounding the affected joint. This process will help you recover from your injury and get back to your normal self.

"We've streamlined everything to ensure all you have to do is focus on getting out of pain."

– Kristopher Sanford M.Ost. Co-owner of MPR Health.

Exercises to rebuild strength and balance

Strengthening and balance exercises are an excellent way to recover from an injury. Strengthening exercises aid in the healing of muscles and ligaments that have been injured. Balance exercises improve coordination among your muscles, bones, and nervous system.

Rehab is collaborative

Injury rehabilitation is important not only for the injury but also for the individual. We address patients’ beliefs about injury, their current injury, and healing times during injury rehabilitation. We recognise the significance of healing and prevention. If the injury could have been avoided, we would look to strengthen the injured tissue to prevent future occurrences.

It is also critical that all parties involved in the process are kept informed. We collaborate with your primary care physician, specialist, and other allied health providers. Whoever it is, we will work together to get you back to normalcy.

Is injury rehabilitation worth it?

Injuries are a natural part of life. Whether you’re an athlete, a mum (or both), or an office worker, you’re going to get hurt every now and then. This can be extremely frustrating to both your physical and mental health.

The good news is that you can recover from an injury and resume normal activities, resuming your life. Injury rehabilitation allows you to follow a structured rehab programme to help you regain mobility, strength, and capacity. You will also learn lifestyle changes that will assist you in returning to your normal activities.
